Hi, I’m Mandy!
I’m an ex-pastry chef, mother, homemaker, avid reader, and country girl at heart who’s passionate about all things natural living. I’m all about discovering how to create systems and recipes that facilitate health, delicious food, and sustainability without the hassle and stress. Both my background in pastry and having a chef Husband give me an advantage in having a professional culinary perspective and approach than many to natural food, homesteading, and homemaking that I know will be valuable to anyone interested in natural living.
As a self-proclaimed Jack of all trades homemaker, The Slow Homestead will feature a wide variety of This includes sewing, DIYs, homemaking routines, food, and also my 2025 Year of second hand challenge. Also, stay tuned for a podcast in the near future where I’ll be reading and summarizing key points in all kinds of books related to natural living!
While I don’t technically live on a “real” homestead (yet), I fully believe that a homesteading mindset is becoming more and more important in our modern society. I’m not letting the fact that I don’t own land keep me from practicing all kinds of old fashioned, homestead-y skills and creating my own little homestead lifestyle in my little mobile home and backyard.
I’m so looking forward to sharing my journey with you and I’d love for you to follow along
